Functional medicine views the mind, body, spirit, and soul as an integrative system. Laboratory tests and other diagnostic methods may be used to uncover underlying issues that are contributing to poor health. You will learn about dietary, lifestyle, supplements, herbal medicines, and detoxification methods for the treatment and prevention of chronic disease.

The Rutherford Wellness Journey
Rutherford Wellness, was created by Renee Rutherford in honor of her husband, Tim Rutherford, who lost his physical life as a result of failed health system protocols. Renee, having been a nurse for greater than two decades, had dedicated her life to helping people achieve better health. As a result of her experience as the wife of a patient, she come to realize "the system" was failing to provide patients with the tools they need to achieve wellness.
The logo "Awaken the Warrior Within" was inspired by one of Tim's favorite T-shirts referencing 2 Cor 10:4 "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds". Renee believes God's design is perfect and that through scripture, He gives us the knowledge to live a purpose filled, healthy, and whole life. Functional medicine is a tool she uses to help discover underlying causes of disfunction in God's perfect design. She uses scripture supported interventions such as life style, nutrition, and stress reduction to support the body's natural ability to heal itself.
